New hours for Summer House Steak & Seafood. The restaurant is now open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Chesters & Hunt Brothers Pizza is now open, right next door to the Odum General Store. For more information on Chesters, CLICK HERE  to visit their company page.

BayWash Laundry & Car Wash (formerly Odum Laundry & Car Wash) is now open. It is owned and operated by Phyllis Bowen. Bowen purchased the business on February 1, 2009 and has made many improvements:

"The car wash machinery has been completely cleaned, re-calibrated and updated with new washing products and HOT water. The laundry machines have been repaired and are clean. All products in the vending machines are fresh. The change machine is fully operational, always full of quarters and now accepts all new bills; $1's-$20's.

I appreciate my loyal customers and encourage everyone in Odum to come in and see the improvements in person. I clean and maintain the location several times each week and refund customers if any machines do not work properly. This is a clean, safe place to come do laundry or wash your car.

Thanks for your business and for the opportunity to serve our community.

The Old House at 240 Carter Avenue is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Come check out the many items! You can buy, sell, or trade. For more information, call (912) 586-2079 or (912) 294-9427 and ask for Tony.

Don't forget the hours for the Post Office in Odum. Monday through Friday, they are open from 8:30 AM until 12:00 PM. They will close one hour for lunch and re-open from 1:00 PM until 4:15 PM. Saturday hours remain 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

The city limits of Odum now has animal control services. If you're having problems with animals inside the city limits, you can contact Animal Control via City Hall in Jesup at 427-1313. Ask to speak to an Animal Control Officer. Give them your address, description of the animal, state how the animal is a problem, and ask that they come to Odum to investigate. The officer will contact the owner if possible; if the owner cannot be contacted, he will pick up the offending animal. This is handled through a contract Wayne County has with the City of Jesup. There are only two animal control officers handling calls for all of the county, so your patience is requested when calling them.

City Hall wants to remind you to be sure your trash is out and in the designated area by 7:00 a.m. to be picked up on Tuesday. Don't pack your bags too heavy, and be sure they are tied securely!

The Odum Depot has become the first public municipal building in Georgia to house the Foundations of American Law and Government Display. This is authorized by Georgia House Bill 941. The bill makes it legal for cities and towns to display some historical documents. Included in the display are the Ten Commandments, the Mayflower Compact, the Declaration of Independence, the Magna Carta, the Star-Spangled Banner, the national motto (In God We Trust), the Preamble of the Georgia Constitution, the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution, and the description of the image of Lady Justice.
